He's Able!

Hello Guys! I would just like to say Happy New Years to all! I know I haven't posted in a while, so please forgive me for that :). However, I just wanted to come on here today and remind you that God is Able! Ephesians 3:20 says this: " Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us..." Whatever God has promised to you, he will deliver; whatever he said, he will do it. Don't worry about your children's salvation, for God promised in Deuteronomy 7:9 that he would save your family up to one thousand generations. Don't worry about what the doctor says because God promised in Psalms 34:19, Isaiah 53:5, and 1 Peter 2:24 that no matter how many afflictions you have, he would deliver you and heal you by his stripes. Don't worry about the money in the bank, because my God said in Psalms 50:10 that he owns the cattle on a thousand hills and that he shall supply all your needs accordin...

Living Life in the Word Lesson 17: Goodness

Theme Scripture: Galatians 5: 22 "But the fruit of the Spirit is...goodness."  This lesson comes from the United Church of God blog (www.ucg.org). It is written by Don Hooser. The title is The Fruit of the Spirit- Goodness: God's Character and Man's Potential . Be Blessed! Are you suffering an internal spiritual war? If so, that’s a good sign. It’s a sign that you are pursuing goodness, which causes the badness of human nature to fight back. Yes, according to the Bible, badness comes naturally ( Romans 8:7 ). Goodness does not. But God has a wondrous plan to radically transform our character! Though our natural inclination is to defy God in sin, He has determined to help us overcome that nature to live a life of righteousness and goodness. This is possible only through a relationship with Him. As the apostle John explained, “He who does good [as a way of life] is of God, but he who does evil [as a way of life] has not seen God [i.e., has not come to really k...

Living Life in the Word Lesson 16: Gentleness

Theme Scripture: Galatians 5:22 "But the fruit of the Spirit is... gentleness..." In this lesson we will be answering five questions pertaining to the topic of gentleness: "What is gentleness?", "What is the difference between gentleness and weakness?", "Why do I have to be gentle?", "What does the bible say about gentleness?", and "Can you give me an example of someone who showed gentleness in the bible?" What is gentleness?    Gentleness, according to the Full Life Study Bible, is "not wanting to hurt someone or give him or her pain." Wow, this is tough! When people get on our nerves, how many times do we wish we can just give them a two-punch combo, or maybe just a piece of our minds- maybe say a few "choice words"? Yeah, almost all the time for some or maybe once in a while for others. However, this should not be so. We must show gentleness to all people, no matter how much they aggravate us...

Living Life in the Word Lesson 15: Longsuffering

Theme Scripture: Galatians 5:22 "But the fruit of the Spirit is...longsuffering"    As we continue with our series, the "Fruit of the Spirit", we come to the topic of longsuffering. Longsuffering is something we do not like to go through. In our modern day society where everything is fast and "high-speed", when it comes to testing and trials and even waiting on God, we think that it should be the same also. We, as human beings, do not like to suffer. We like suffering, as long as we aren't the ones suffering. However, as we are nearing the return of Christ, Jesus is sending out messages to whip his people into shape. God is telling us that in these last days, we will have to have some longsuffering.   What is longsuffering anyway? Well, to find that out, just separate the word into two: long and suffering . As a result, longsuffering is the ability to suffer long in spite of  persecution and problems, especially when done by other people. It is th...

Living Life in the Word Lesson 14: Peace

Theme Scripture: Galatians 5:22 "But the fruit of the Spirit is... peace..."    As we continue through this journey of learning about the fruit of the Spirit, we come to the topic of peace. In this lesson, we will talk about the two types of peace in relation to God and how they are received.    First of all, in order to understand peace in general, you must understand that peace is divided into two sub-categories: the peace of   God and the peace with  God. Both types of peace are important to the believer, but also the sinner as well. Both types of peace play an important role in any person's life, simply because you need one type of peace in order to have the other. 1. Peace of God  Philippians 4:7 says " And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Colossians 3:15 also says " And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be...

Living Life In The Word Lesson 13: Joy

Theme Scripture: Selected Scriptures In this lesson, we will be discussing the fruit of the Spirit, Joy. We will be answering several questions related to joy. There is no set scripture, but we will be using a variety of scriptures for this lesson. Without further ado, let us begin with the first question. What is joy?                                                                                                                                            According to the Full Life Study Bible, Joy is the feeling of gladness based on the love, grace, blessings, promises, and nearness of God that belongs to those who believe in Jesus (i.e...
